Prospering with Spirit, Numbers and Cycles – II
My fanciful reason for referring to the 7 Habits, at least in these blog posts, is that I have an interest in the metaphysics of numbers. I therefore pay attention to how numbers play out in my experience. I know this is rather fanciful and may not be meaningful to anyone but me, however, I find it interesting that in some metaphysical interpretations the number 7 represents completion in the physical world.
One example is that there are 7 days which complete our weekly cycle. Another example is the scriptural account of the battle of Jericho. This is the account of an Israelite victory completed after a series of activities involving the number 7. The most memorable is the encircling of the walls of Jericho 7 times (Jos 6:3-5). So to me, there is a poetic elegance in Dr. Covey discovering 7 habits commonly practiced by highly effective people. What is more significant to me is that the more I practice these 7 habits the more effective I feel myself to be.
In my next posting, I will share why I find the number 12 interesting.
Until next time,
Enjoy Long Life and Prosperity,
Charles
